“We began our Christian life by depending not upon our own doing but upon what he had done. Until a man does this he is no Christian; for to say: “I can do nothing to save myself; but by his grace God has done everything for me in Christ,” is to take the first step in the life of faith. The Christian life from start to finish is based upon this principle of utter dependence upon the Lord Jesus. There is no limit to the grace God is willing to bestow upon us. He will give us everything, but we can receive none of it except as we rest in him. “Sitting” is an attitude of rest. Something has been finished, work stops, and we sit. It is paradoxical, but true, that we only advance in the Christian life as we learn first of all to sit down.”
I am your place of refuge, rest, comfort and beauty — the abiding place of your affections. All your needs are met in Me, and I satisfy your true desires. My living water flows to quench your thirst and fill your life with good things. It’s here at home that I refresh and restore your soul.
I provide everything you need at just the right time. I forgive all your sins, heal all your diseases, and crown you with love and tender mercies. I joyfully renew your youth. I am the place of perfect love, and I surround you with a peace that you will never know elsewhere.
Will you make your home in Me?
When you make Me your refuge, I will shelter you from harm, and my promises will protect you. You won’t be afraid of storms, disasters, diseases or terrorists. When you call on me I will answer you. I will be with you in trouble, and I will rescue you!
I see you seek refuge in other homes, and I wait patiently, longing for your return. I prepare a table for you that’s always ready, always waiting. I delight in you, and miss you when you’re away. I search for you from a distance, and my heart leaps when I see you returning. Oh how I want to be your home every day, all day; you have no idea how much I want this.
I have made My home in you; will you make your home in Me?
John 14:23, Psalm 103, Psalm 145, Psalm 23, Psalm 90, Psalm 91, Luke 15
My ways are not like man’s, not like yours. They are higher, deeper, broader — they are of a different realm – the realm of My Glory. Open your heart, expand your spirit to My ways. Don’t cling to man’s ways, they will always fall short of My Glory. They will always disappoint, they will never satisfy.
I have made you to know and experience My ways. No eye has seen, nor ear heard, what I have prepared for those who love Me. I made you to experience My Glory. That’s why I came, now come and receive it, come and receive Me, and experience My Glory, in you, around you and through you.
As you have received, so walk. You have received Me by faith. You just believed. That’s all! It was simple. It felt a little risky, but you just decided to believe, to trust, and I came into your life, didn’t I? I came into your life, and I’ve never left. Never left. Just like my Word promised. I never left, and never will. If you only knew how long I waited to hear you say what you said. I was planting seeds all the way, whenever I could. I was waiting for that day you said “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.”
Now continue to walk as you received — free! Not with self-effort, but with ease. Moving through and ignoring the fears that arise — just trusting Me — walking towards Me, believing, believing, not looking at the natural — not looking at the mountains — there are way too many of them, don’t even entertain them. Just keep pursuing Me, believing Me, placing every area of your life in My hands.
I love you, you are secure. I am your security. I am Love, and I do not fail.
“Anyone who thirsts, come to the waters, for they are free. My waters will refresh, surround, and protect you. They will lift you up out of your troubles, out of the depths of depression, fear, and life’s struggles. Rest, float, trust, and see what I will do in your situation.
Come and receive, I’ve provided everything, it’s all been finished and accomplished in Me. I am the Way, it’s no longer up to you. I am here now, fathering you, protecting you, loving you. Come and believe.
Every spiritual blessing — it’s yours. Everything I am, everything I have, is available to you in Christ, the exact representation of Me. My character, My strength, My desires, My power, My authority over the enemy, it’s yours…as you believe. Trust Me to operate in and through you.
Come and receive it ALL. Not because of what you do, but because of what Jesus did.”
